PowerPeak Energy successfully completed the installation of a 75kWh backup solar system for a client in Karongo. The system was professionally engineered to provide large-scale, reliable backup power capable of supporting continuous operations during grid outages and unstable electricity supply.

Mr. Laban Friday

Director of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Mr. Laban Friday is a Nursing officer with extensive training and leadership experience in healthcare and development. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, and Certificate in Nursing, as well as a Diploma in Health Service Management. With a strong foundation in clinical practice and health systems management, he has combined professional nursing expertise with entrepreneurial skills as a businessperson in the medical field.

He serves as the Head of Field Operations at the Population and Social Development Institute (PSDI), where he coordinates community-based programs, leads field research, and supports policy-driven initiatives to improve population health and social outcomes. His role emphasizes bridging healthcare delivery with development strategies, ensuring evidence-based interventions reach communities effectively.

Passionate about innovation and impact, Laban integrates his medical background, management training, and business acumen to advance both healthcare and social development in Uganda and beyond He leads Health, Safety & Environment at Power Peak Energy Ltd, driving the development of modern energy solutions tailored to Uganda’s needs.

Mr. Monday Boaz

Operations Director

Mr. Boaz is a dynamic professional with a strong background in law, ICT, and operations management. Currently in the final year of a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, he also holds a Diploma in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), equipping him with both legal expertise and technical proficiency.

He has gained diverse experience across development, corporate, and energy sectors. He previously worked with Raising the Village as a Field Officer, where he supported community development initiatives, and later with China Henan Internatinal Corporation Group (CHICO) as ICT personnel, applying his technical skills to improve systems efficiency.

Currently, he serves as the Head of Operations at Power Peak Energy Ltd Uganda.Driven, versatile, and solution-oriented, he blends legal knowledge, ICT skills, and leadership experience to deliver impact in both organizational growth and community transformation. Boaz brings extensive experience in project management and power systems operations. He is responsible for coordinating daily operations, supervising technical teams, and ensuring efficiency in the implementation of energy projects across the country.

Dr. John A. Mushomi, Ph.D.

Chairman Board of Directors

Dr. John A. Mushomi is a faculty member at the Department of Population Studies, Makerere University, and a research and policy postdoctoral fellow with the African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP). He also serves as Senior Research Fellow and Research Lead at the Population & Social Development Institute (PSDI).

He holds a PhD in Population Studies from Makerere University, an MPhil in Demography, and postgraduate diplomas in Population and Development from the Cairo Demographic Centre, alongside a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a focus on sociology from Makerere University. With over 15 years of teaching, research, and policy practice, Dr. Mushomi has developed expertise in migration, population, and development. His research interests span reproductive health, demographic dividends, urbanization, migration, and population policy. He has offered research and policy support to ministries, departments, and agencies across East and Southern Africa, focusing on demographic analysis, migration, and development planning.
In addition to his academic and research contributions, Dr. Mushomi plays a significant role in scholarly publishing and professional associations. He is a founding editor of the Partners in Population and Development International e-Journal, associate editor of the International Journal of Educational Development in Africa, founding vice president of Uganda’s Population Scientists Association (PSA), and a council member of the Union for African Population Scientists (UAPS), representing Eastern and the Horn of Africa. At Power Peak Energy Ltd, he oversee the Company by providing strategic direction, ensuring ethical and legal compliance, monitoring financial health and representing interests of stakeholders ensuring the company’s growth is built on sound fiscal management.

Eng. Henry Tiberondwa Kagaaga (PMP ®)

Director of Engineering & Project Management

Eng. Henry is a registered Civil Engineer and a certified Project Management Professional, with a Master’s Degree in Project Planning and Management, a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management and an Ordinary Diploma in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering.

He has over 20 years’ experience in handling PPP projects, implementation and management of projects (Road works, Buildings Construction, Infrastructure Maintenance, Electrical/Mechanical works), planning and managing procurement of works, goods and services. Has been actively involved in supervising Civil, Electrical and Mechanical projects, preparing work plans and budgets, and managing (cost, quality, time and resources) for engineering projects. He provides strategic leadership at Power Peak Energy Ltd, guiding the company’s vision to deliver sustainable and affordable energy across Uganda.
